BEA Hip-Hop Playlist Project

Hello guys, I had this idea to work together in order to create a playlist of quality hip hop to share with the rest of our fellow BEA members. Others I discussed this idea with seem to be interested, so I figured it's worth a shot! It's meant to give you a taste of some of the best hip hop albums out there. If you like what you hear, you can explore more from that album/artist/etc. I will be using Spotify because it's the closest thing we'll find to a perfect platform. Until I design/program the next best thing *wink wink* It IS a collaborative playlist but since I am the owner of it, I reserve the right to remove anything that I deem is not necessary. I've encouraged the people that have nominated specific albums in the "Best Ever Hip-Hop Nominations" thread to choose a song from their selections. Strange that De La Soul are not on Spotify when they actually gave fans the chance to download their back catalogue for free not long back.

I think they still have issues with sampling legality, as the laws on sampling then and now are night and day; however, Paul's Boutique and other sample-heavy albums are on Spotify, so I'm not positive.

Yes, that will be why actually. That was the reason they gave the albums away in the first place when I think about it, because they had those issues preventing them getting the albums on iTunes. I just plain forgot. Yeah seems crazy that Paul's boutique is on though.
