In fact I think about 90% of the top 40 do write their own songs.
And probably 20% is auto-tuned, and that's being generous.

Listen to "Heartless" that's obviously auto-tuned, and the rest of that album is. Check Wikipedia, it actually even notes how much he samples from other artists. "Generic" is such a stupid word, but either way, they are often generic, though not always.

How about you don't project your sweeping generalizations on people you don't know? That's like the first cornerstone of racism, at least that's how I see it. Also Kanye is a great showman nd a character type that may appeal to some people but not me (that's why he's everywhere; although being a great showman or appealing to many people outside of your supposedly niche market may sound sth good for other people and it certainly is an achievement for the individual himself if that's what they wanted but I don't give a single solitary fuck about all that).
