Amidst The Circling Spires by Alio Die & Sylvi Alli
Liking this more and more each time I hear it. Beautiful and hypnotic ambient arrangements paired with soft crooning vocals atop a plethora of sounds ranging from the mildly haunting to the unexpectedly comforting. Delves into dark ambient and even tribal ambient at times, as well as deeply textured pieces that I'm not even sure how to describe (that really only loosely fall under the "ambient" umbrella). Slowly making it's way to the top half of my 2014 chart. Highly recommend to fans of Robert Rich, Steve Roach, and Alio Die's solo stuff. (And to a lesser extent, Vladislav Delay and Monolake)
