Major Laura Marling vibes. First few tracks felt a little pedestrian, like so many other "intimate" acoustic albums, but the album became progressively more interesting as it came to a close, and Bentley definitely managed to find a unique voice in a vein of music that frankly has been done to death and out of which it is pretty hard to pull anything new and creative. Good listen. Thanks Kiki

Not my favoriteโ€ฆ experimental release thing youโ€™ve shown me this year, but I liked it quite a bit. As with a lot of post-minimalism releases it will take some time for me to digest and appreciate.

Can I just say I really loved Rocky's pick for me. I don't think I've ever gotten a bad rec from that man.

Satie, er, IDK. IDK what to give you. Have you heard

Absolutely mystifying in the best way possible. Haunting yet somehow comfortable and inviting. Distant yet intimate. Simple but thoughtful chord progressions and the soft crooning of a beautifully untrained voice, spoken word samples of a japanese child, understated field recordings... the album feels so pure and innocent but very mature all at once. I am having trouble really qualitatively describing my experience with this album so let me just say this was lovely and thank you so much for the rec. Definitely going in a special place up in my 2014 chart
