This is really good, a nice mix of cheesy prog sensibilities with exciting growly metalcore.
EDIT: I really shouldn't judge albums from the opener (which is still great), it slowly gets a little more annoying. The "growly" vocals really piss me off, they're sorta like Attilla's in the way that they're over guttural and too deep most of the time. Yeah, I can't see digging this apart from the times where it becomes cheesy prog metal, and I really didn't expect to hear myself say that I prefer the cheesy prog metal parts of this to the metalcore parts, but there you go.
EDIT II: Screw it the guttural growling isn't too bad, it just irritates me a little. And it's not even too prominent. When it's not going "ooh let's growl like a fucking grizzly bear" it's really a great album. The cheesy prog metal mixed with metalcore really works well, I like the spacey synth-licks it has going on every now and then. It's colourful and bleak. It's cool, I guess. But it's waaayyyy inconsistent. _________________

EDIT: Wow, only on the third track and this has to be up there for one of the most original albums that I've listened to. It's EVERYTHING I LOVE ABOUT INDIE ROCK AND ART ROCK IN ONE ALBUM.
