Their Bodies In A Fog by Arrange
There's a thin line between endearing sincerity and cringe-inducing over-earnestness, and this album walks that line a little too clumsily for my liking. Lyrics such as, "if you've got the best of you then how come you're haunted?", make me feel queasy to be honest. And the production is nice enough, all murky grey skies and rain-covered windows, but again it just feels a little overdone, as though he's trying a tad too hard to tug at the old heartstrings. This one's not for me, unfortunately.

Torch Song by Radiator Hospital
...which is a fantastic slice of power-pop that deserves to be heard, one of my favourite records of the year, twee and knowing and catchy as hell. Won't appeal to everybody, but it's fun as fuck and very down-to-earth. Just lovely, really.
