My pick for best year in music. Some obvious choices for best album ever were released this year, but I'm sure we've all heard London Calling, Unknown Pleasures, and The Wall by now. So here's my top that isn't in our top 50 (or coincidentally even our top 150) of the best year in music:
In my opinion, their strongest release to date, Phaedra included. This is the most "Space" feeling album I've ever heard, and I just want to watch old sci fi movies on mute with this going on. In fact, this sounds like the best soundtrack to a John Carter movie never made, or the cancelled Dune, or etc. _________________

Fantastic album. Always thought it was horribly underrated. Easily my second favorite if not favorite from TD. (Also love that description. That is exactly what it sounds like)

Synthesist by Harald Grosskopf
Yeah I know word of this has already been spread across BEA (mostly via lethal/Skinny, namely during the 1500+ tourney), but it never hurts to engender some more adoration for this lovely record here. Inventive, hypnotic, and weirdly fun progressive synth excursions. Compositionally stunning, creatively executed, and trippy as fuck. What more could you want?
