Music For The Quiet Hour/The Drawbar Organ EP's by Shackleton

Sweet crap this was a long album, but worth it. Really cool stuff, the spoken word throughout the album was perfect, probably the most interesting part of the album. Solid album.

I'll get to Coachwhips soon.

Ramadanman EP by Ramadanman was not catchy. Not what I could put on for long time. I may like if heard more though

Wine Dark Sea by Jolie Holland is fairly good album. ๐Ÿ˜„ Not sure on most of the words all the way through. It's dark city music.

I didn't really like Ramadanman EP, it seems very boring, and for me none of the beats behind it really stuck. I'm not really into music that is like this, so if I'm going to like music that is like this it has to be really good.

My honest score for this is a 15/100 (not for me)

Please excuse me while I proceed to piss off anyone who has any kind of opinion of this album

Dear Pharmakon fans:
What is the big deal? I'm not even that familiar with the world of power electronics and similar styles of music and yet this already feels stale. It's not offensively bad by any means, but I think it's way too confident in what it's doing; there are certainly some interesting doom-laden textures scattered throughout, but there are scarcely explored to any kind of satisfying depth. I don't even necessarily dislike it but I simply find it horribly uninteresting, like its trying to force itself into these emotional niches; it's trying to be primal but it's too consciously composed and overtly self-aware to reach that kind of aesthetic. Still, I found some enjoyment

Dear Pharmakon haters: What is the big deal? I mean sure this isn't the most accessibly music OR inventive music, but ffs it's really not all that bad. It's uninteresting at the worst, and even if the world of power electronics and whatever brand of industrial you might classify this as has far more to offer than this little blip of BNM hype, there's still a flurry of interesting ideas going on here even if they aren't explored very fully. I might even revisit it to see if my opinions change at all, (though it's pretty low down on my priority list).

TL;DR I see Pharmakon the way I do U2. They are both so distinctly average I don't understand why there is such a polarized view of their respective works, nor do I understand why they seem to show up on forum discussions with any kind of frequency when at any given there are far more interesting things to debate

Though thank you for giving me a reason to actually listen to this Rocky. At the very least it certainly got me thinking ๐Ÿ˜œ

Alright so am I throwing another album at nacho? Damn I'm just shooting the wind here because I seriously don't know your tastes well enough to tailor a rec... *flips coin*

Ok here try this
