Pssst... In the Court of the Crimson King has been considered a bonafide classic for decades now. Nice call on your part though considering you didn't think it was! ๐
I would never argue with either Sgt Pepper, Revolver, or The White Album being The Beatles best. I think the first side of Abbey Road is hit & miss due to Paul's novelty songs so it really can't be their masterpiece despite a stunning side 2.
Great reviews & I really dig your chart, LAF2! From what I recall, they'd almost all be considered classics.
As far as In the Court goes, I know it's been revered in the progressive rock community since its release, but it seems to be gaining momentum outside its specific genre now. Since I joined this forum, it's already climbed ~20 spots. In the last 5 years, it's climbed almost 100.
