I like the first two tracks more than the last two, though I did enjoy it on my initial spin. Though I admit my exposure to Enduser’s particular style of electronic music is something limited, but I enjoyed the textures and patterns quite well enough. Might explore more later.
Really cool shoegaze album with notable post-rock influences. Guitar work was fairly standard but the vocal performance was terrific and really held all of the surrounding feedback-y instrumentals together into surprisingly melodic cohesion. I dug it 😄

My only experience with Gilberto in the past has been with Getz/Gilberto (which of course I adore), so even going in with high expectations, I think such expectations were surpassed. Although the mastering of the album is fairly precise and relatively polished, there is a striking intimacy to each of his guitar/vocal wonders (with their surrounding big band accompaniments; each feel so personal, not quite in the melancholy way of Nick Drake or Elliott smith, but more of a serene atmosphere with an air of romanticism and even an understated joy of the purest kind. Apologies for not getting around to this earlier; I had listened to it a few times earlier in the year, but decided to set aside some time to listen to it again specifically for this thread. Basically, it's OK. I adore Kelis (I think both Kaleidoscope and her greatest hits album have been on my overall at various times), but this completely falls flat for me. I was really excited when I heard she was putting out a record on Ninja Tune to be produced by Dave Sitek, but this is just conservative in all the worst ways. It doesn't take any chances, where even the worst Kelis albums have done so before. I mean, musically it's superior to her last two, but at least those albums were interesting (Kelis Was Here is an overlong mess, but it's got 'Aww Shit' and 'Bossy' and 'Little Star' and 'Handful' on it; Flesh Tone is largely garbage, but at least it sounded like she was having fun). I just don't really need a mature Kelis in my life. It's not a bad album, but it's not even close to being in my Top 100 (or Top 200, for that matter) of the year so far. If I was in the business of rating albums, this would be a solid 6/10. Nothing wrong with it, and the production is definitely warm and inviting, but overall it bores me, and that's something I never thought I'd say about a Kelis album.
Anyway, for whoever is next, take some smoooooooth '80s late-night heartbreak music...

You walk inside, still heartbroken, but perhaps with a bit of serenity now about you. Things will be alright in the end.

The bolded things are related to sound quality right? Is this something which really matters? Do albums with the smaller numbers sound different to the higher numbers?
