Deerhoof put on one hell of a show. We got 90 minutes of straight energy, with the band giving it their all, jumping around the stage, and playing some amazing music. Before the show I show I was chatting to a guy next to the stage door (super nice guy). Then he puts his drink down and says "Sorry, gotta go!". And proceeds to hop up on stage and sit down on his kit. I was talking to fucking Greg Saunier! While we're on the topic of Greg, let me just say he was the most interesting drummer I've ever seen play. He puts all of his energy into every hit and tap, and just demolishes his kit by the end of the night. Amazing guy.
Anyways, go see them Revolver. It's quite the show.

A month ago aproximately I went to see Anathema with another BEA user and, although I would have preferred if they had played more of their old stuff, I enjoyed the concert a lot and felt they played wonderful music.
I bought their T-Shirt of the gig ๐
I went to a final concert of the so called "Club Marathon", organized by a Slovenian "alternative" radio station (Radio Student), which gives an opportunity to six young artists and bands to tour across Slovenia (in various clubs). While I wouldn't call any of the six "amazing" or groundbreaking, there's loads of potential in some of them, and I had a great time.
Highlights were two bands in particular. One is HillBillyWithAChainsaw, aggressive and very mathy sort of stoner rock. Awesome drumming I've never seen a gig with so many rhythm and time signature changes within songs. They also had a chainsaw on stage. Thankfully only used it for half a song.
The other is Koala Voice (the only band I knew beforehand), just a bit of catchy indie rock. They're nothing special in itself, but super cute with some incredibly catchy hooks. Really good live act.
I wanted to make a snapchat story but unfortunately got distracted (and/or drunk) and quit (as in, stopped doing the snapchat thing) with three bands to go. If any of you followers were wondering what that was about.

Just got home from a local music show. Ugly Sweater Social. Really really cool.
So first act was a surprise and a half. They're called "Panic Is Perfect" and they put on one of the best live shows I've ever, ever seen. They ROCKED it. Came out and chilled with "fans" (none of us knew them before then but we all LOVE THEM after), signed autographs once they could even find a pen, gave out free stickers, got yelled at for giving out free stickers by management, all the fun stuff new bands have to deal with. These guys are gonna be big. I can feel it. They have a great pop-rock sound, something a lot of you guys might be into. They have a bit of a ... well I don't know. It's not groundbreaking music, but there's not a band I can just go "this is who they sound like" either. I guess Walk The Moon and Spinto Band? Kind of? (EDIT: They're San Francisco Twee (I didn't know that was its own thing) with additional influences from "the likes of The Killers, Vampire Weekend and Matt & Kim". I dunno.) They're also just really nice people, I talked to Joey and Jeremy and they're just awesome guys. Really hope they make it big, just really good people.
Next up was Forrest Day. He's a rapper who plays the sax and has a backing band and makes indie rock and some country? I think? I guess? I dunno. Honestly missed most of his set trying to find Panic Is Perfect because, seriously, these guys are great. He was OK but eh. Got into it. Yelled a lot about loving the country, hating the government, took of his shirt (he's 300lb), danced around, and played sax.
almost two years ago now, and it's danced around my charts ever since. They're really, really good. Got incredibly into it, also did a cover of Undone (The Sweater Song) by Weezer because of the sweater party and then later a mashup of I'll Be Watching You and All I Want for Christmas is You. Debuted a new song and I'm really excited for the new direction. But these guys might not be great in Cinci or even on a random night in San Fran. Their real strength came from the fact that at least 50% of the audience was their family, friends, long time fans, or classmates from school who knew all the words to every song. It was seriously incredible.
So in other words, when Panic Is Perfect is headlining international tours, I told you so. And when Finish Ticket comes to town next year touring in support of a new album, give em a shot, they might be great there too. Forrest Day ... well, I wish him luck, I guess.
TL;DR: Everyone should check out Panic Is Perfect.[/b] _________________
