I died inside a little bit upon seeing Matisyahu billed above De La Soul.
Oh god this. I saw Matisyahu live in concert, I've got a signed guitar from him I won in a raffle while trying to win a different guitar signed by Eddie Vedder and Paul McCartney ... and even as a jew I recognize he's a sub-par performer whose flow is iffy at best on some tracks, and whose career has kind of gone downhill from the start. De La Soul, even though I've never been huge on them, is a way better group for so many reasons IMO, I don't understand several things in that lineup, frankly, but this was one of them that confused me.
Also I was gonna go to the Saturday show (Outkast, Weezer, Matt and Kim, Third Eye Blind, De Las Soul, Cracker, No Age, and some one hit wonders and people I don't have any interest in) but damn that price. Like I guess food and wine is included or "discounted" or something so maybe if I was able to partake in the wine but I mean, the price of the ticket + some way to get out there is just not worth it. Which is a pity cuz Outkast and Matt and Kim would just be so fun live, No Age would be cool I bet, De La Soul's alright even if I'm not huge on them, and Weezer and Third Eye Blind have some potential (AKA they used to be really really good imo), but just ... that price ... no ... _________________
lol, this is definitely their weakest year, IMO. Probably the first I won't even bother watching for single day tickets for.
There are actually no good artists near the top! And if anyone says The Avett brothers are good they wrong because no! I don't want to go see the Avett Brothers when I can be looking at space by myself with no avett brothers playing caveman vienna ballroom at me. Because it's all posh like too posh and not the sort of posh I would go for
Semi-popular in Spain too due to them being sons of Spainsh (mostly Catalan) people who fled during the Civil War. They blend typical Spanish Flamenco and Rumba with Pop. Some people over here don't like them for mixing those classic styles and making them so poppy. For me they sound OK. Djobi Djoba stays in your mind forever xD
They're something completely different to what you can find on the USA and more related to typical Spanish music so I would reccomend you to listen to them (although here in Spain we don't listen to that much flamenco or rumba tbh).
I'll include this funny version of "Hotel California" which appears on the film "The Big Lebowski".
This is a very very weird festival lineup, but at the bottom of the poster is a name that BEA knows and loves

I must have overlooked this chat when it first got started because I am just now seeing it! Yeah, my most favorite singer James Otto was a part of this gathering's line up!
