Absolutely. That song is one of their best. It's just find the album less consistently brilliant than others. Of course it's tough to compare any of their other songwriters to Clark or Parsons, who were both virtually flawless.
Totally agree. That same inconsistency plagued Fifth Dimension even more IIRC. Still both great albums though. On another note, thanks for re-introducing me to No Other. I connected with it so much more on this go around probably because I'm just older. Such a great album.
What do you think of The Notorious Byrd Brothers? After Sweeheart, it's my favorite Byrds album, and I don't think Parsons was involved even though it marked a huge shift in towards that kind of songwriting. ๐ค Any thoughts?

I love Notorious Byrd Brothers. At times I've liked it more than Sweetheart, but no longer is that the case. If I were to rank the Byrds first 6 albums, it'd be:
Turn Turn Turn > Mr Tambourine Man > Sweetheart at the Rodeo > Notorious Byrd Brothers > Younger Than Yesterday = Fifth Dimension
If you haven't listened to any of Clark's other records, White Light is really just about as great as No Other. Some say it's better. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com

I only listened to it a couple of time when it was re-released on vinyl I think back in 2009. I will totally give it some more spins this week. Thanks!!!
BTW, my five year old Matilda LOVES William Onyeabor now thanks to you! Just a fun record. What should I listen to next in that realm?
