Besides the obvious points of eclecticism and open-mindedness, allow me to vent for a minute.
I have a friend who often judges artists or bands off of ONE FUCKING SONG. You do not understand how much this frustrates me. His taste in music is actually above-average I'd say, and he likes some pretty obscure stuff, but Jesus Christ that trait is SO PAINFUL to me.
Strongest case in point: He listened to "Whoa" by Earl Sweatshirt and called him "Tyler's wannabe protege". I told him how fucking stupid it was to judge him off of one song, and how fucking stupid it was to say that when the first verse of that song demonstrates the monstrous amount of talent Earl has over Tyler. I tell him to listen to more, at the very least Chum and Sunday. He refuses, thinking one song is enough to judge. AGGGHAAGHAHAGH
