King of Carrot Flowers Pt.1 (Neutral Milk Hotel, In The Aeroplane Over The Sea)
Fake Empire (The National, Boxer)
Rock 'n' Roll Star (Oasis, What's The Story Morning Glory)
Smells Like Teen Spirit (Nirvana, Nevermind)
Astral Weeks (Van Morisson, Astral Weeks)
Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) (Arcade Fire, Rebellion)

Just songs that set the tempo and theme for the rest of the album. I enjoy albums that have a 'feel' or 'theme' to them whilst not necessarily being a concept album.

Just Like Honey is a dreamland of a song that is always playing in my head but I've only ever listened to the whole album, like, twice. And it has kind of got me in a constant daydream about how if I ever made music I'd perpetuate the trend of Be My Baby drums on every fucking song. Its mythical. Its some Joseph Campbell motifs-throughout-cultures type of stuff. Be My Baby drums are something deep in our psyche. Okay, that's not true at all, but, it could be, if every band perpetuated it.

Of a similar style, Soft as Snow (But Warm Inside), though not even the best track on the album, is so incredibly endearing and gratifying. its a track that has to exist.

What a coincidence, that's exactly what I say whenever anybody puts Oasis on.
