whoa I need this! If it's any good, that is. Is it?
Stopped it after ten minutes to watch my football team. Seriously regretting that decision. Sounded nice enough, if pretty nondescript. Will give it my full attention later and report back. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.
Norman what did you think of Dorival's and Muddy's albums?
Hello Cartesius. I liked both, Dorival better by a long shot. Folk Singer is a bit underwhelming, and passed the very good first two songs, you feel that this records lacks the grit that Muddy has in his wilder albums. Much prefer In Newport or even Hard Times. Still, one has a good moment listening to it.
Dorival's album is very good indeed. Such softness in the instrumentation, while at the same time keeping it somewhat, I don't know, raw? Bonus for me was "Pescaria", a song that I've always loved; Dorival's version is splendid.
I'd rate Folk Singer 70 and Canções Praieiras a solid 80 if not more.
