I'm surprised this is only on one chart (mine). Anyone who dug last year's Mac Demarco album should give this excellent record from 2012 a few listens. Can't imagine I'm the only one who'd enjoy it.
Oh yeah I've been slacking on filling in the older years but that album is really fantastic, you all need to check this out, this should be way bigger for sure.

The Raveonettes are one of my favorite artists and they have consistently hit the ball out of the park time and time again for me. Obviously it was only an amount of time before Sune Wagner and Sharin Foo were going to change up the direction of their band after cutting three records of the same style almost annually (In and Out of Control, Raven in the Grave, Observator) and for a lot of people they were getting less interested with the band as the albums came out. So as a result or by coincidence Pe’ahi reintroduces a more airy sound but they do not skimp on the shoegazey textures or walls of sound here. It’s almost like Wagner & Foo took the best parts of their first three records and mixed them with the best parts of their last three records thus creating this record which balances a sound of old and new—though it sounds more of its own thing than a mish-mash of their previous six records and I really dig it, but there isn’t even one Raveonettes record I don’t love. I’m a fan and apparently quite easy to please.
