That's too much umpiring, you don't need that kind of stress, Defago. I say, Card Laid Card Played. Vote goes to Team Donuts.

I accidentally clicked on 06 and hit vote as I realized. The poll doesn't need to be an authority, we're doing this for fun.

This is super tough...I can't see myself voting against Return to Cookie Mountain (in my top 30 or 40), but I'm not a huge fan of anything else in 2006 (well, Life Pursuit turned out to be better than expected, and When You Were Young has nostalgia value). On the other hand, 1981 has two OK albums (Damaged and Faith), one great album (Songs of Pain), and two "not bad but meh" albums (I don't know why I don't like post punk....). To settle this, I've decided to add up my ratings for the albums:
1981: 85 + 75 + 75 + 60 + 65 = 360
2006: 60 + 95 + 75 + 60 + 55 = 345
Dammit. Gonna listen to the singles again and then decide.
EDIT: Going 1981, I'm on kind of a Daniel Johnston kick right now and there are 3 '81 albums better than the 2nd best 2006 album. _________________ And it's hard to be a human being. And it's harder as anything else.

So Defago's team is pretty great. Donuts is tons of fun, The Life Pursuit is the only late-period Belle and Sebastian album I love, and Ys is just on another level. However, I could do without Thom Yorke's solo work and I actively dislike TV on the Radio.
Still, that would be enough for me to vote for Defago's team against more than half of what I've seen fielded. Unfortunately, he's going up against the second best team in the tourney so far (Skinny's first 2000 team being the first best). There's no album less than great in Cellar's line-up and two that are transcendent (Damaged and Red Mecca).
Voted 1981.

That's a tie! Half a win for each.
