Don't know if this album has been mentioned here yet, but really really good post-rock/post-metal (it's somewhere in between). The big moments are gigantic and the instrumentation is really great, layers and layers of guitars, incredible drums, it's really a pretty awesome album. _________________ Progressive Rock

It's black metal with a healthy dose of "wtf just happened". It's really different, can't say I've ever heard a black metal album like it. Some of the best avant-garde black metal in sometime if you ask me, I just finished listening to it and I can say the first track is fairly standout with it’s sort of “black metal-meets-free improvisation” approach. I hear fleeting moments of mathcore and noisecore patterns as well as ideas, it’s probably what I would want to do if I could write black metal myself. It’s not as chaotic as it seems though, and it wears on you—but I think it’s really really good and worth a listen.

I've listened to it a couple times now, and this is a horrible cliche, but it really feels like the Kid A of Hip Hop.
There's going to be a lot of people turned off by this, but I think his homecoming storytelling is outstanding, and the whole second half (especially Hood Politics/How Much a Dollar Cost/Complexion) is sublime.
