Haven't heard it all the way through but while it definitely seemed to me to have sludge metal influences I'd say it was more noise rock.

Menial drone and atmospheric sludge influences. It's definitely more experimental noise rock that borrows a lot from Swans if you are familiar with the style.

I voted for Want in metal too because where else will it go? I think it'd be more out of place in the rock category.

Experimental/Avant-Garde?
Rock would be odd, but more apt than metal since it's not metal as a primary. I say this as my personal knowledge in drone metal and atmospheric sludge not out of weird elitism btw. I love that record I voted for it.

Yo yo. The last round for this is going live sometime today (hopefully), but first, me and Jhereko have been talking about how the winners of each category should be decided. Now we need your help.

In the previous years, the system we have used was "rank the nominees", where you dragged and dropped the titles of songs and albums and placed them as you wished. The pros of this system is that users make a more informed decision, don't go just for the one name they recognize and "kinda like".
Main con is that some users might not be interested in doing a lot more 2014 listening this deep in 2015, and some categories might require it. That way I'm afraid a lot of the voting will be kind of "random", with people just dragging their favourites to #1 and randomizing the rest of the order.

The second option is "pick one of the nominees", and has the standard pros and cons of your poll options. A bigger chance that a "less interesting", but more "hyped" choice wins. But it does reward the album that did the most to the biggest number of people. See this from last year to see what would have been different with this system.

Of course yet another option is to use the "pick a favourite" system for most categories, and the "order the nominees" for the main categories (best song, best album). Anyway if there will be some responses in this post and most people will prefer one of the options, we'll go with that one. If y'all don't care that much, we'll decide among ourselves.

Much love
