I mean, I like some of his older stuff, but at this point, it just feels like he's over releasing. I mean, jesus, he's got 12 albums just between 2012 and the end of 2015. 12 releases in 3 years. I don't know everything by him by any means, everything I've heard pre-"My Ghetto Report Card" I've liked at least a fair amount, everything at least average or mostly better, but since it's like he's just been rushing out as many albums as possible. (I do still have to check out The Block Brochure: Welcome to the Soil 3, didn't realize it had Snoop and Kendrick).
And don't get me wrong, not everything new's been bad - his verse on IDFWU is probably my favorite part of the song (I actually like that song, tbh) - but it's been downhill for sometime.
Fun fact - he once gave away brand new iPods on Halloween. IIRC they came with his album on them. He'd had some like custom deal to get them made. _________________

Pretty much every album he releases is really fucking solid. In recent years I particularly enjoyed the first three parts of the Block Brochure series (#2 is just ridiculous - 'Function', 'I'm Laced', 'The Other Day Ago', 'Memory Lane', 'This is the Life') and the two History albums he put out with Too $hort, but I'm still a big fan of just about everything he's done from the Revenue Retrieving series onwards. Still haven't listened to the Sharp On All 4 Corners albums, but I imagine they're pretty dope too. If anything, he was actually putting out weaker music in the 2000s than he has been in the 2010s.
Also, In A Major Way, Charlie Hustle and The Element of Surprise are unfuckwithable classics. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.
