Fairly interesting stuff here from Spain, though I wasn't particularly in love with the record I'm sure there will be a lot for me to take out of this after a few listens. Reminds me that I haven't listened to much Spanish language albums in some time, might spin Ojos de Brujo later.
there is a lot of fucking music on this album. Like the ideas present here are myriad and everywhere, but actually there's a strange cohesion of pattern or sth. Like the songs individually are kinda all over the place but they all fit as some strange puzzle pieces into the album pretty well. Much like your previous rec, it's the kind of thing that really should've been a disaster but works way better than logic suggests it should, and that I happen to dig ๐
here, been meaning to get your thoughts on this one:
Yeah, I am very well familiar with DPD and itโs probably the best one-shot thing in abstract/alternative hip-hopโฆ probably ever. The only person involved with this I donโt follow is probably Alias, but the other three parts of DPD are utterly fantastic musicians and lyricists. This probably should be on my hip-hop chart when I redesign it, but for nowโyeah, it should come to no surprise that this up my alley and I always enjoy listening to it. As for my thoughts in more depth beyond that, I'm not quite sure on that. I really think the abstract beats/production stands out more than the rapping itself, and that is not to say the rapping here is mediocre or forgettable. Again, it should be on my hip-hop chart.
Just finished this and I thought while it was inconsistent it was wholeheartedly enjoyable. Standout tracks: Jovial Costume, Getting By, Arrival , Opus Ashamed, Pil Hiding, Final Act.
