2015 albums

WindowAbove · 2014-12-30T12:17:05-05:00

It's a little early now, but once we get into 2015 there will be great albums to listen to. Some stuff already leaked or is available like Viet Cong's self-titled, which I've heard and liked. Anyway this is the thread for albums that come out in 2015.

New Mikal Cronin, Miami Horror, Speedy Ortiz, They Might Be Giants, Nosaj Thing, Death, and San Fermin have all leaked. Got some listening to do 😁

Just in time too, I'm seeing them next weekend.

I also Nosaj Thing a couple weeks ago, where he played a lot of stuff I didn't know, so I'm assuming it's from the new album. It was fantastic, so my expectations for this are pretty high. He put on one hell of a show too.

Happy to say Dwight's late career resurgence is continuing in fantastic fashion.

Hard to argue with this.

So two great metal releases:

Awesome space doom that flirts with stoner metal, sludge and some drone that could give Sleep and Earth a run for their money.

On Lonely Towers by Barren Earth

My metal AOTY so far. Incredible progressive death metal. The composition, the virtuosity of the music, everything is just incredible, some of the best prog metal I've heard.

I was coming here looking for april releases to get into cause it seemed like it's been a bit subdued since Courtney, Kendrick and Sufjan all released their heavies within weeks of each other, but pretty much handed it as soon I opened the page as realizing I just wasn't looking hard enough, nice. And I guess The Magic Whip is coming out next week and Sprinter the next so 2015 def doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon.

First thought: 'can't be any more boring than that Albarn solo record'.

Second thought: 'wait, do I really want to test that theory?'

Third thought: 'eh, I'll get around to it at some point'.
