LOVE that record!!! Used to spin that back when I was throwing a lot of parties. Just the perfect pre-party album.
Only problem I've got with it is that "Rose rouge" is the first track, and nothing can quite equal it afterwards. Sometimes sounds a little bit bland-ish along the way, too. Still good, and re-listening to "Rose rouge" is such a down-memory-lane kinda trip for me... Those were the days... These are the days today too for sure.
I've been a fan of the band for a while actually, and this is definitely my favourite of theirs since Idoli. Seems a more natural melding of their doom elements and their spacier elements than either of the Oro albums. Really claustrophobic, and some cool industrial elements at times too. To me, they've always sounded a bit like a heavier, more depressed Hawkwind, but a few moments here recall Swans too. I think I actually added this one to the database - definitely one of my favourite metal albums of the year, and should probably be a little higher on my 2015 chart. Ahh I like the Hawkwind comparison, that's good.
I loved it too, really danced around genres a bunch. Doom, stoner, even some high-quality drone metal stuff that I feel like is as good as something Sleep or Earth would've done. _________________ Progressive Rock
