expectedly fantastic. From a similar drone school of Radigue and Conrad (the latter I believed performed on this record?) but where they focus on a steady development of very few slow variances in timbre of layers, this was comparatively dense. For a drone record there was actually quite a lot going on here and it doesn't suffer at all because of it; if anything it speaks to Oliveros as a very unique and exciting voice even within the confines her seemingly narrow school of minimalist contemporaries. Many thanks
Given the cast assembled for this album, there was a lot more Thurston than I expected. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I do wonder where Moore fits in alongside veterans of harsh noise and free improvisation when his forte seems to be of a closely related but entirely different kind. He performs very well though, and some of those extended guitar noise segments that overlay drum breaks paired with harsh feedback and static are just wonderful. That said it's an album of inconsistent greatness imho, but when these guys do bang out a cool passage or two it is really fucking good.
shoop, ima hit you with some of the most fun you will ever have (I hope)
