Really really cool noise rock album, definitely enjoyed this a lot. The experimentation with the electric guitar is just awesome, a great exploration of the cool things you can do with an electric guitar. Great stuff.
Alright Apple, let's see if you're into some fun catchy indie rock
I was really hoping I would ๐ซข๐คก๐งฑ๐คฎ to this.
But I instead I was ๐๐บ๐ซ ๐๐ชฆ to this.
It was really catchy and fun, even if it was rather unoriginal. I'm ashamed of myself, and I'm glad it's not on RYM so I don't have to give it 5 stars for the world to know.
Speaking of glorious unoriginal cheese, you surely are familiar with
So you know what's funny? I was about to listen to this yesterday and didn't get the chance, so now I will! Review will be upcoming later
also, I feel like Gowi might have something to say about it being unoriginal cheese, IIRC it's pretty high on his power metal chart ๐
edit: So yea, that was basically everything I could ever want from a power metal album. Big, powerful, great guitar-work, awesome singable choruses, like just an absolute killer of an album. Definitely one of the best power metal albums I've heard, no wonder Gowi likes it.
Alright Apple, give this a shot (if you haven't already heard it):
*before listening reading the comments in the album section*
"prepare to have your mind blown"
hahaha
*while listening to it*
what... is this.. wow
wait..
shit
*mind blows*
*pieces of brain everywhere in the walls*
fuuuck I gotta clean it
after getting my mind back, just focused into it, man it was stunning, one thing what I loved in this one, is that jim seems not to be stopped, he and this album moves to various directions in a way that none of the songs sound alike, some are smother feels like he is moving like a ghost in the dark alleys, but there is even space for the psychedelic and melancholic (melanpsyche... haha sounds like a mellon who kills other melons) compositions, also love the instrumentation, and all the feedback behind them, but I think what was the most incredible is how the 43 minutes album passed so quickily through my mind, this was just beautiful in an insane way, thanks apple.
This is some really bad post-punk, I didn't even know they still were making these. Makes my stomach burn, literally. Father said . I didn't want to listen to anything tonight, my head is exploding. Saw this file I'd downloaded, hey, why not? Turns out to be the perfect crowning for the day, seeing myself here, tear behind my eye. at a distance. I say it is shit in the best way possible, if you know what I mean, not a knock on by any means, I wouldn't change this one for any other album right now. thanks. speakers are kinda broken. don't know what else to say. i really like it. ts cool. first time i think this, gotta listen to more average albums. absolutely fitting
Antonio my dear friend, I swear this is my favorite thing ever these days. don't know how i'd get through my days without this to cling to. viver รฉ o maiooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooor caaaaaaaaaaaaastigooooooooooooo
Man, I wonder if Rocky is recommending me all this indie music I normally hate just to annoy me. ๐
Anyway, the album was alright, and I like the pinch of experimentation, but it's hard for me not to be bored by these albums, even when Pitchfork gives them an 8/10.
BRUN (if you haven't already heard it; I've been obsessed with it over the past week, and have been showing it to everyone I know)
For this one, I actually liked it quite a bit. As it started, I envisioned it getting a little old after awhile, and it did a little bit, but I'll be damned if there weren't some songs that were still pretty jamming past the halfway point of the album. I feel like this was an awesome idea that could've been executed even better, but still, cool album, I liked it a lot. It's one I've been meaning to listen to forever and this gave me an excuse to listen to it.
I liked this well enough, it's not Surfing With The Alien or Flying In A Blue Dream, but I'd put it on par with The Extremist. I always love me some virtuosic guitar playing and Satriani can definitely provide that. There are some really cool things he does here from a music theory perspective, and if you're interested in that, check out what I wrote in my ULL.
Alright Apple, how about something a little different than that boring indie shit I keep sending your way?
