This was really cool. I thought I would've gotten pretty tired of it after the first couple songs, but it had some nice variety I think. I'll have to revisit.
While a teensy bit bloated, this album was so amazing at so many points. Plug definitely knows how to give his songs weight in the production, and I'm really shocked this isn't bolded on RYM. Thanks for the rec, Rocky <3
Not in love with this to be honest, I feel like it started out a lot better than it ended. I remember my guitar teacher telling me about "Don't Eat The Yellow Snow" and I felt like that was a very good track. But somewhere along the road it kinda revolved into noodling. Really talented noodling, but still just noodling. At least I didn't have to try to get through that Peter Bjorn and John album again 😜

Honestly, when I first saw this I was like "Oh great, another metal album, don't think I'm gonna like this"... Oh man was I wrong (about not liking it)! Holy crap it was awesome. Vocals reminded me of Geddy Lee's, which is a plus because I love Rush. Really consistent too, just epic all the way through. Definitely will return to. Thanks so much for this Applerill!

This was pretty awesome. It had this great balance between these noisy, thick guitars and delicate, fragile strings. At times this album was big and at times I felt like it'd fall apart it was so thin. Really gorgeous, and I'm not surprised, Ben Frost is quite good at what he does. Plus, the Michael Gira tribute was pretty cool too, loved it, great music to do work do, really fills out the background in a lush way.

Wow, that was absolutely amazing. In fact, I already added it to my overall, and it's one of the best pop-minimalist electronic albums I've ever heard. Every repetition just filled me with so much joy.

Hey sorry it took me so long to get around to this. Anyway definitely an interesting blend of styles here, though not really so much a blend as a bunch of em mashed together. Inconsistent but with high highs. Starting out I thought I was in for some AOR prog madness and then I get hit by this pseudo-house jam with some pretty killer bass, followed by what is essentially some mid-2000s indie c. Oracle Spectacular. Then back to prog. Eventually I hit a track that reminded me a bit of Imagine Dragons so I'm gonna not talk about that (:p). Second half it gets a little Cut Copy-esque, before hey more AOR prog. It was really overlong, but I think if you culled together all the instrumental tracks (I have nothing against the guy's voice but it always seemed to be paired with my least favorite songs) you could have a really solid short EP. As it stands I'm just gonna listen to Prototype and Nebula on repeat for awhile :p
