The semi-forgotten new album from Sun Kil Moon leaked 8)
Downloading right now, pretty excited for this more than anything else this year so far, and that's considering it's been a pretty great year! _________________
So this comes out June 1st but the whole thing is streaming now(). It's John Dwyer from Thee Oh Sees, this is his newish solo project with lots of synth action. I'm a big nerd for his stuff, I really think he's one of the best at putting pop music out there. There's a straightforwardness to the songwriting, there's no acrobatics it's just really nice melodies pushed directly into your face. I still love what's happening with Thee Oh See's, but I feel like the change in how things are put together with this project gives this one the edge via freshness. Check this one out
Oh and here's another cool thing, this one's from Egypt. Really busy dancey electronic music jams. Gets pretty wild, there's an excerpt that sort of drops you into the middle of things here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UX0MZHO5Fys but yeah it doesn't exactly start at that point, you get a little bit of a ramp up going in. But yeah, some really fun stuff on here that some of you all might enjoy.
I've seen it said elsewhere online that Toby Keith and Diamond Rio are to release new music sometime this month, so getting what they have to share is my next musical objective. ๐๐๐
God bless you and them always!!! ๐๐๐

Ok so here's the deal with this one. There's that Bird Show Band album I really like, and I'm always trying to show it to as many people as I can. And then someone says "oh hey this bassist on here, Joshua Abrams, they're really great. Check out their 2012 album Represencing." And so I do, and it's pretty damn great. It gets categorized as jazz which sort of make sense but there's no horns and there's a lot of non-western rhythms and instruments. It was good, but it didn't quite feel as refined as it should be. So then recently, this new album came out, exclusively on vinyl. 2xLP. 38 dollars. And so I'm like sure, this album is maybe good, but surely two albums would be better? And so I leave it alone, and slowly keep seeing word about it. Marc Masters starts selling it on twitter, going from "it's really good" to "it's the best he's done" to "album of the year so far". And then Keith Fullerton Whitman puts it in the best of 2015 section of his shop. And I'm like "agghhhh no that's still not 38 dollars plus shipping no no." I keep hoping for a digital release cause I don't need any physical thing, I just want to hear the music. Checking all my go-to places, nobody has it. And then I decide to check Itunes. It's there! And it's 20 dollars. THIS IS ONLY 72 MINUTES IT COULD FIT ON A CD! ON PRINCIPLE I CANNOT BUY THIS THIS IS WHY PEOPLE STARTED PIRATING MUSIC IN THE FIRST PLACE! And so an hour later I crack and I buy it and it is the best album of the year so far (and I really don't think I'm just saying that because I spent 20 dollars on a lossy digital copy of it). The whole shebang is just super refined, first half is really rhythmically driven with really subtle tonal stuff and then second half gets more overt with things and the electric guitars make their presence known, it's just incredible. If you're into this and can spend 20 dollars on a lossy digital copy of an album and not just resent it for that forever, it's actually totally worth it and I strongly recommend doing it. Otherwise I'd say be on the lookout for when this leaks out cause it is really amazing.

Former Mecca Lecca recording artist Howth has a new album out today. Some of you might be familiar with singer Carl Creighton's solo work. It's one of those albums in which a band puts so much into the process that they simply explode. By the time of completion, they were left in shambles. Friendships destroyed. And the album was shelved.
Finally, here it is in all its glory. A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles concept album chock full of emotional depth and great hooks. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com
Difficult to describe. Sort of like a cross between Ricky Eat Acid and Galaxie 500, with the occasional nod to Fahey, except nothing like that. Quite minimal, very soothing, lots to like. Could certainly see sp4cetiger and Norman enjoying this lots, and very possibly dbz, Necharsian, mecca too.
