This was pretty cool. A nice little ambient album, one of those that slowly envelops you. It almost felt like it was a little peek into Leafcutter John's mind, like we're getting a glimpse of how he thinks. Cool stuff.
Sorry that I haven't gotten around to this sooner, I was busy and then Drones came out so I was obsessing over that. Anyway...
Really liked it, it was... unique, but that much is obvious. I honestly don't know what to say about it (not saying that in a bad way or a good way), but it was good nonetheless.
Really nice little folk album. Very simple, but not boring at all, rather it felt very intimate and I really liked that. Nothing mind-blowing, but just a really nice album, thanks!

oof. Not really my thing. I'm all for avant-garde music, especially when it comes to classical stuff, but this just really wasn't my thing. It was interesting at parts, especially the Thirteen Changes piece, and I get the concept behind Occam, and that's cool and all, but that first piece, Circle Process, man, that was rough. I get the idea, I like the effort and the idea of exploring the different sounds you can make with a violin, but it just really wasn't for me. Thanks though!
Oh huh I think I've been seeing this name around, always reminds me of that Little Joy band with that dude from the Strokes. But this is a different sound, not exactly joyless but there's a serious-mindedness to it. It's dreamy swirly at times but the drums keep things pretty anchored. But there's also the tracks where the guitar is rippin and the energy is high, I feel like there were a few moments where they really got the dreaminess meshed with the high energy stuff, and that's where I thought this album shined brightest. But it does seem like most of the album is more midtempo pretty stuff, which is still good. It's a nice one I dunno if it registers too high for me but it seems like one that people should be checking. I'll probably play a few of these songs at some people I know.
I think there was a reissue recently that packaged it with another album but that seems like a long listen so I'm only askin for this one.
That was actually pretty cool, I liked that. Almost like a classical ambient album, a really cool exploration of sound, it's like they were seeing how much you can get out of one note or one long chord. Good stuff!
