I thought that too at first, but it grew on me and fast, I guess I'm just a sucker for this sort of stuff though, it'll be tough to find an album from 2015 to surpass it for me. _________________
"La Dispute has that wonderful spoken/shouted word overtop metalcore sound. Hotel Books has a wonderful spoken/shouted word over top more of a Pianos Become The Teeth style post-hardcore, something closer to shoegaze or post-rock almost more than hardcore. Beautiful lyrics with an impressive soundtrack backing, and, I would go so far as to say, better than anything La Dispute ever put out (but for MAYBE Somewhere Between)."
Also features my favorite review ever to write at the #84 spot. _________________
This is some cool spacey jazz rock from Glasgow. Not mind blowing, but a few of these tracks seemed really striking, seem like a band to keep an eye on.
What's a good sort of... sexy nightmares album from 2015? The Jenny Hval record has me craving more and Im sure there's something in that range out there... somewhere? ... Skinny?
Anyways I guess just bidding my time till the new Musgraves (too old, can't be arsed to download the leak) along with Isbell & A-Monroe next month, could be another amazing year for country (if you consider Isbell country, it's complicated) to match '13, for my most favorite singers.
