Hayden, it seems like you're moving into "later-Truffaut" mode when it comes to this new project fitting into BEAcore. Are you mostly done making crassly experimental and "blatantly rebellious" work like Candles and Who's Masquerade? Or do you think this is just an "accessibility" phase in your career?

This was a group effort, but essentially yeah, this is just an accessible phase. I'd love to go back to doing work like Manner again, which to this day is still the album I feel the proudest about.

BUT, in retrospect, this album was certainly the most fun I've ever had recording. Worked a bit in Detroit, Toronto and even spent a few days in a cabin in the middle of northern Ontario that has a full studio. It was super fun. Everyone who worked on it is up-and-coming, and we know we aren't perfect by any means, but I have a lot of confidence in the two guys I worked with.

The final release as Harkan.

A revisit to an album that was, well, underwhelming. Something was lost and it just didn't really work.

However, if it was not for the album 'Falling Into The Traps I Leave Myself', I may have not experimented as much as I have.

Tracks 1-4 are unreleased cuts from the album.

Track 5 is my quick remastered mix, to see if I missed something important in it all.

Splitting Sounds Records also made this their 100th release so I am grateful for that as well.

Cafรฉ by Ah Yeah No Maybe

It's out ๐Ÿ˜

Super excited to release this album. Iโ€™ve been working on it with some guys from Toronto, and weโ€™re really proud of it. The group is called Ah Yeah No Maybe, and the album is called Cafรฉ.

Itโ€™s an instrumental hip-hop album, with R&B and jazz influences and samples. It can be downloaded for free on Mediafire (link in my sig) or you can stream it here.

Even if you arenโ€™t that interested in it, it would mean a lot for you to download it, and it would at least make us feel really good to see the download numbers ๐Ÿ˜

Hoping you like it.

You can count on that - as soon as I finish the current lot of albums in the queue.

Bup Swishes, I already listened to Cafe weeks ago. It's amazing, the best sequel to Blue that JMan could ask for. It's a shame he hasn't reviewed it yet.
