Okay once again I must ask you guys for giving me some new releases (the last month or so), because I wasn't around all that much. Or if you can whore out your 2015 lists, that would be great.

this new Mike Krol thing that comes out tomorrow sounds like it'll be fun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dszhHqFpgl8

and on the electronic side of things, the Shit and Shine album that comes out tomorrow (Everybody's A Fuckin Expert) is really good and then this came out in mid-July but was fantastic

Piteous Gate by M.E.S.H.

and then on the dronier side of things, this is highly recommended

Gruidรฉs by Stephen O'Malley

August wasn't too exciting to be honest, but the albums from Destroyer, Beach House and FKA Twigs are all worth listening to.

Not all necessarily within the last month, but I've thoroughly enjoyed (and think you might enjoy) the following:

Invite The Light by DฤM-FunK

Lush, maximalist synth-funk, features include Q-Tip and Ariel Pink among others. It's long (over 90 minutes), but it's surprisingly varied, and features Dam's most accomplished compositions yet.

Days With Dr. Yen Lo by Dr. Yen Lo

At the other end of the spectrum, this is quiet, insular, grimy New York rap, stripped to its bare bones. Effortlessly sinister, this album is grey as fuck.

Morning/Evening by Four Tet

Longform ambient house, featuring samples from Indian music. Very relaxing, very summery.

Compton by Dr. Dre

Hauntologists by Hauntologists

Improvised house music, using African field recordings to give it a very organic feel. Reminds me of Can circa Monster Movies a little bit, but not quite sure why.

The Beyond / Where The Giants Roam by Thundercat

Innocent Country by Quelle Chris

Relatable, everyman, stoner rap, with lots of tossed off non-sequiturs that often turn out to be disarmingly profound. Plenty of piano, too.

Summer Mirage by Chester Watson

Wordy, MF Doom-influenced rap, over chilled electronic hip-hop beats. Might have been called 'cloud rap' three years ago. Probably wouldn't have fit that label very well even then.

Another One by Mac DeMarco

Before The World Was Big by Girlpool

Pop-punk stripped to its bare bones, two girls with guitars and enchanting voices, singing about feeling vulnerable in a big world. Twee as fuck.

Labor Against Waste by Christopher Paul Stelling

Ragged, wordy folk music, actually reminds me of Dylan at times but calls to mind the same sort of vibe as gritty western films, without actually sounding like something you'd hear in a western.

Anyway, hope that helps.

I love you Skinny!

To add to Skinny's already wonderful list of suggestions.

From Kinshasa by Mbongwana Star

Futuristic electro afro funk from the heart of the Congo.

We Slept At Last by Marika Hackman

Dark, melancholy folk that wouldn't sound out of place on classic 4AD

Last Year's Savage by Shilpa Ray

Woozy harmonium drenched 70s NYC through the powerful howling voice of a woman with no concerns of sounding ladylike.

In Plain Speech by Circuit Des Yeux

Experimental/electronic folk with haunting vocals somewhat reminiscent of Carl Bozulich.

Meliora by Ghost (Sweden)

and

High Country by The Sword

are my favorite albums of this year. And they were released on the same day too.

And I feel let down by the new Dr. Dre album, but it's okay because the movie was good.
