Childhood obsessions

My earliest memory ever was the song Lambada by Kaoma, which was from 1989, when I was 3 years old. I remember I've heard it many times and lots of the other children in the kindergarden sang it, too. It must have been a huge hit back then if I remember it so well. I know I didn't like it back then, and the reason was because everyone else liked it, haha.

Later I fell in love with the most famous rock opera of my country, which is called Stephan, the King by Illรฉs. I remember recording it on tape and listen to it over and over when I was 7 or 8.

About a year later I heard 'Too Much Love Will Kill You' by The Queen, and I loved it, I listened to it a million time.

These three are my best musical memories from my childhood, beside all of the classical music stuff which I heard at home because my mother is a piano teacher.

I remember I always loved Yellow Submarine by The Beatles, and Low by Flo Rida.

This soundtrack was by first legit musical obsession. It did something to me chemically.

When I was really little, I was simultaneously drawn to and frightened by Enya.

The Corrs were stuck in my head 99% of the time.

Mark Knopfler was also a key player, mostly for his Princess Bride soundtrack which was on heavy rotation.

Still love a lot of songs from him or his band (Film), though maybe not the same ones.

I was also listening a lot to a slovenian band, ล ank Rock (ultimate slovenian dadrockers). Here is their ode to our beer:

Year later, when I was 5, they released an album with this song:

Probably my favourite song of my childhood and tbh I still like it (probably just nostalgia though)

One of my earliest memories is going absolutely ape shit over Song 2 when I was like three years old in the living room.

These two were thrashed by my parents and me.

Chain Reaction by John Farnham

Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds by Jeff Wayne

My cousin introduced me to a new album once.

And my one year old daughter likes Tay-Tay at the moment. Plus The Wiggles.
