I wanna get back in on this. I know I have at least one album backlogged... Dear whoever last rec'd me an album here, what do you want me to listen to again?

in the mean time Ben here's a thing. Could see it going either way:

Things That Happen At Day/Things That Happen At Night by Milo

Glad I'm not the only Ben who liked this. Jesus could you have picked a better album for me? It'll probably miss my overall chart, but if so, only just. Anything else anyone's been hiding from me that samples Bon Iver and references Delillo? So much better than his last release, which was alright but sounded a little too much like "look ma I can do the Buck 65 thing too".

I guess I'm to Rocky as well ... hm ... maybe try this on for size? Not really sure what you'd think of it but there's moments that make me think you might like it:

Not really something I was too into, though I imagine I could probably send this to one of my roommates as it feels like it is something up their alley.

Aria Of Vernal Tombs by Obsequiae

Melodic black metal isn't usually my jam. I tend to prefer the more abrasive, murky production value side of the genre, but this was a real treat. I actually listened to it will playing Skyrim and I can think of no better context for these intensely medieval vibes and folk-metal interludes, as it does very much evoke a dark-toned fantasy world. Not the kind with kindly wizards but the kind with dark underground cults everywhere. Definitely takes influences from atmospheric black metal while still being distinctly melodic, and succeeding pretty well in the context of both modes. I dig it. Thanks Rocky ๐Ÿ˜„

Alright here's one for Gowi. P.S. I'll be responding to your PM soon ๐Ÿ˜‰

I ended up really liking this one after hearing it once before. Not sure why it clicked but it did. Might just be one of my favorites after repeated listens. Felt like it had really great production and atmosphere.

Not a bad album, just a weirdly long songs for what it is. Like to have a 4 minute track on here just feels weird, I feel like shorter tracks (even though the whole thing's only like 40 minutes" would have worked better.

How about this one:

Not much to say other than it's different than what you might think. The News is my personal favorite.

I know the term "Beggars can't be choosers" and I hate pulling this card but PLEASE NO BLACK/DEATH METAL! Or Goth...
That's the last thing I need. And I promise I'll listen to what is bellow me as long as it's not those three.

I have never really been in love with either band, but this collaboration has its moments where I can at least say I enjoyed the plodding indie rock guitars and noisy aspects going down in the background. It has a lot of ideas and sounds a bit different than either groups standard material but I feel rather underwhelmed by the end result of the album as I feel little resonating with me by the time โ€œNo Life for Meโ€ comes on. It feels like a collection of songs Iโ€™d be okay with hearing on the radio once in awhile but not one I actively go out to listen to on my own time.

Since Tom/InsertNameHere wanted to waste the thread's time, I think this recc goes back to Ben.
