1. The Magic Whip - Blur
Coming 12 years after their last album, Blur's newest is easily their best record yet. Terracotta Heart, Lonesome Street, Go Out, and Pyongyang are the best tracks.
2. To Pimp a Butterfly - Kendrick Lamar
This was the first rap album I listened to in full, and it got me into rap. This album is genius. The songs are funky and catchy, and the lyrics are top notch. King Kunta, The Blacker the Berry, and Alright are the best tracks.
3. Carrie & Lowell
This album is excellent. The songs are so touching I just wanna cry. I may not agree with his religious views, but Sufjan is a great artist.
4. My Love is Cool - Wolf Alice
Wolf Alice's debut is awesome. It is reminiscent of early 90's late 80's grunge and indie rock, like Sonic Youth, Nirvana, or Pearl Jam. Great stuff here.
5. Currents - Tame Impala
Although not as good as Lonerism, this is still an awesome album. Tame Impala is definitely gonna become one of the best artists of the century.
6. Drones - Muse
Maybe the lyrics weren't perfect here, but the music is back to basics, just like they promised. Not bad from Muse.
7. The Book of Souls - Iron Maiden
Pretty good prog metal album here.
Have yet to listen
Sometimes I sit and think, and sometimes I just sit
In Colour
Vulnicura
thanks for posting this, some of these look amazing from album artwork and name alone (Hexual Sealings is kind of brilliant). Been interested in hearing the Letha Rodman Melchior album for a while, and especially since she was a North Carolina artist.
I'm chalking this up to the assumption that Space-Dementia is young and doesn't have long attachment to earlier Blur records. This assumption is based on his following statement "This was the first rap album I listened to in full, and it got me into rap".
As a long time Blur fan, I dug The Magic Whip but it comes nowhere near Parklife, 13, Think Tank and Modern Life is Rubbish. I'd maybe place it alongside the Great Escape, and definitely above Leisure, but that's all. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com

Wait hang on in your ratings where's the self titled? Cuz that's definitely my favorite and if you're saying it's worse than all of those then I'm confused. _________________

The self-titled is right in the middle for me. Sometimes I love it, sometimes I don't. I'd probably place it 5th behind 13, Parklife, Think Tank, and Modern Life is Rubbish, but that's no slight to Blur, I just really love those other 4 _________________ http://jonnyleather.com

That's totally fair, I thought you were saying it was worse than 13, Parklife, Think Tank, Modern Life, Magic Whip, Great Escape, and Leisure, and I was very confused. _________________
