It's one of the albums I inherited from my Brother, a UK reissue on Virgin from 1985.

So the way Ive been treating my overall chart is sort of doing this thread backwards. I've been slowly rebuilding it from scratch and putting albums on it that I would like to own on vinyl (at this point I don't think any that I currently own will land in my top 50, maybe 2-3 in my top 100).

I'll probably start attempting this thread's challenge in mid October/November, and I'm hopeful I can find some records through local shops (which I havent explored at all here yet)

I had been browsing discogs for some of the albums I know will be in my overall, but In den Garten Pharoas runs a high price as far as I can see, and that's just the beginning. Real hopeful I can find some bargains when I seriously start looking.

Anyway this thread has been fun to keep up on and see how others are finding records and bargains. Probably my favorite active thread here.

Not sure where to put this, but I think this would be the thread. Amoeba has a youtube segment called 'What's In My Bag', and it's been on for 4 or 5 years now. This one with Michael Shannon was from yesterday, and I thought he had some really cool picks.

It might not be the best one to start with though ๐Ÿคฃ They usually aren't that solemn.

yes, these are great, I'm subscribed! I got an amazing rec from the one with Liturgy (whom I've never listened to), Just Before Music by Lonnie Holley
There are loads of them so something for everyone though I usually just watch all of them. ๐Ÿ˜œ

Thanks Hayden...this is great, reckon I'm gonna pick up loads of Recs from this guy. Good stuff

For Canadians who want cheap vinyl copies of:

Zombies - Odessey and Oracle

Run The Jewels 2

Pains of Being Pure At Heart - Belong

Ben Frost - Aurora

3rd Bass - The Cactus Album

The last few are from a private seller. They usually go fast though. I've found some great finds using this. They're usually super lightly used (usually still in shrink wrap), and if you're disappointed, you can just return them.

There was also a copy of Natty Dread for $5, but I snatched that up ๐Ÿ˜

So took advantage of my daughters athletics meeting near Mansfield today and popped into Ridgeway Records for the first time in Kirkby in Ashfield. Great little shop with a good selection of genres, well organised and they also sell a few old turntables and speakers (they had a very nice old rega planar for sale noWaxJim)

Anyway picked up the following

The Leonard Cohen album is an upgrade on the copy I have which was a tad crackly and is a UK 1st press - ยฃ3
Beach Boys - UK 1st press - ยฃ7
Stranglers - UK 1st press - ยฃ4
Smiths - German original - ยฃ12

All in Excellent condition

So as it turns out, Tuxedomoon's Half-Mute is kind of expensive on the re-presses, which I knew, and hadn't checked on the older presses. Apparently the older presses are cheaper. Anyone have ideas on why that would be, before I get excited and buy one?
