Holy shit. This is some of the best material of 2015. Most of the songs seems to have a the same consistent structure, but they compliment each other so perfectly. Every song is dark, Vince's voice is hypnotic, the lyrics are gritty yet introspective, everything just works.
SECOND DISC:
Almost as strong as the first. Just almost. Still retains strong production and lyrics, just not as memorable...

Boy that was long. It certainly did fit all of the criteria for my favorite type of music, but the songs were too long for my liking. I appreciated the doped up rapping and the slow, druggy instrumentals, but a lot of these songs can be trimmed down to half their length! If this was around 45-50minutes long, I would've appreciated it more. Not saying that I didn't! Freakin' sounds awesome, it was just a bit of a challenge to sit through!
Alright, so I'm already on Thanksgiving break because my classes for Monday are arbitrary and I don't have Tuesday classes, so after partying tonight I'll be heading home. No homework this break because the prof's are dope. In the meantime, while I wait for the night to come, I'll binge some albums. Onto this album, recommended by DBZ. I thought this was a pretty underwhelming album. I'm pretty unfamiliar with vaporwave (is this vaporwave?) and I felt like this was a pretty bad step into the genre. The songs are incredibly short and nothing climactic really happened. I really appreciate the rec, just really my taste. Sorry, DBZ. 🙁
Dear Lord. I have a headache after listening to this album, and I mean that in the most complimentary way possible. You know, after over a decade of time, what is considered "harsh" or "extreme" or "intense" usually gets a little watered down with future releases. But this. This. Holy shit. It's one of the most extreme metal core albums I have ever heard. A truly rewarding experience, the title track being one of the best metal core songs ever. I see a second or third listen does a lot of justice for this album, so I should be having one sometime in the near future. Dear Lord.
