Occasionally someone with decent taste drops off a job lot, you can tell because in with a bunch of albums you like, but already own, there will be some you have never heard of, these are the ones to buy. They will only be a quid or two, and the chances are they'll be to your taste; if not just donate them back, you will have given to charity with the bonus of the possibility of finding your latest favourite thing.

in all seriousness, the only time i ever tried this, i bought a cassette of '40s and '50s red-baiting country music incl. the immortal "Ain't I Right," and it's all really really good.
