I've done more than one survey of the middle nineties, looking for good music. With the rare exception (California Love, for instance), I haven't found much; the late eighties were full of good stuff. Vote to 1989.
When I saw California Love on the list, I hesitated in my vote. However, Madonna's Like A Prayer is at least 75% its equal, and the rest of the 1989 presented more than makes up the difference.
