One of the most frightening, harrowing metal albums I've ever heard. This whole album is so disorienting, it's like the aural representation of pain and despair. Rarely has an album ever made me feel so physically uncomfortable, but this one did. The Body and Full Of Hell blend their sounds perfectly, at some points the album feels more doom-oriented, and at others it sounds more grind-oriented. It's like the two bands are constantly attacking each other trying to establish dominance. They even take on a Leonard Cohen song ("The Butcher") and pummel it beyond all recognition. It's a seriously powerful album, it shows the depths of pain and anguish in the human soul. It's a heavy listen, but an amazing one. _________________ Progressive Rock

Gurgling vibraphone, propulsive, jungle-referencing drums, choppy, simmering synths and tape loops - suggestive of a coming apocalypse of sorts - and third-eye revolutionist spoken word all come together here to create one of the most interesting and vital hours of music I've heard this year. Recorded at London's amazing Cafe OTO on New Year's Day, this thing is constantly evolving, starting off pretty heady and trance-like and just edging further towards the cliff from there. It sounds a little bit like Roy Ayers had a really bad acid trip that ended with him and Sun Ra jamming at a darkside drum'n'bass rave as the sky threatened to collapse, and is therefore something you absolutely need to hear (obviously). It's the only digital release I've actually spent money on - something I'm loath to do - since fuck knows when, and I don't even remotely regret it. I think that dividesbyzero, Tap, Norman Bates, Grzywa, Muslim-Bigfoot in particular would enjoy this, but it's worth a go whoever you are.

Felt like the song just kinda plodded along though, no hooks or surprising moments. I just expect something a little more exciting from Radiohead other than 'we added strings' after a hiatus.
I agree, but think that it's kinda cool that Johnny is bringing in his other work into Radiohead. Kinda would hope for more powerful string work, but yeah.
So cool that they are doing that, it's a good song, but not shitting my pants awesome. I also remember reading a possible Indian influence on the record, which would be nice.
The ANOHNI album leaked, which is obviously a good thing. Definitely up for some angry-at-the-world, melodramatic, widescreen electropop. Also, definitely found things to enjoy about recent releases from Beatrice Dillon & Rupert Clervaux, Omar-S, Adam Asnan, and Marcus Strickland's Twi-Life. The new Horsepower Productions is great, the new Drake grows on me by the listen, the new Andy Stott is my favourite thing he's done, and that Matthew Revert & Vanessa Rossetto is funny and interesting. I've listened twice to the album sampler at Cafe OTO website (it's available here: https://www.cafeoto.co.uk/shop/jamal-moss-mark-sanders-orphy-robinson-010116-dl/) and it feels awesome. Brilliant percussion work. Rich'n'varied electronic layers. And yeah, those vibraphone entries are slightly sinister. Totally enthralling throughout. And then the fuckin' sampler ended. Shit, I need to get this record !!!
