I'm sure a lot of you have heard of the new supergroup called Prophets of Rage. If you haven't, it's Chuck D of Public Enemy, B-Real of Cypress Hill, and Brad Wilk, Tim Commerford, and Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, and they're basically gonna tour America all summer cause they're pissed off at the presidential election.
I want to know what everyone thinks of them. I personally like Rage Against the Machine but could never get into Public Enemy and haven't listened to Cypress Hill, so I'm kinda meh on these guys. Plus they're talking about all this stuff they're gonna do and they want people to 'join the revolution' and stuff but I feel like in reality they'll play a few alright shows and then go back to enjoying their mansions and not caring. Thoughts?
I think that the guys from Rage are finding that they can make a decent living forming supergroups with people who used to be bigger stars than they are. Question is...will this be better than Audioslave? Doubtful. Question is...are they cashing in on being angry at the government and touring during a Presidential race, or do they actually have something to say that's worth hearing? Question is...do they have an idea what kind of revolution we need, or are they just hoping for people to get mad and give them headlines while spending money on tickets to go see them?
My thought is that these guys aren't going to attract an audience young enough to have the energy to revolt. Kind of like Living With War by Neil Young...it was good that he put it out there, but in the end, he accomplished nothing because his audience was too old and tired to do anything about it.

I'm pretty sure if recorded the sound of myself taking my morning shit and set it to a beat, it would still be better than Audioslave.
Lol, I don't think everything Audioslave did was gold, and they aren't my favorite supergroup, but I do really enjoy their first album.
Prophets of Rage is a decent idea, as cool as it is to have all those guys working together, it seems a little trivial compared to a real RATM reunion at least for me. _________________ Attention all planets of the solar federation: We have assumed control.
