This may already exist. I'd like this to be a place we can just post something that we really love atm. And then ask people in the BEA community to contribute some key albums that they feel will also be loved. I don't care how obvious it is. Like, not at all. Can be such a super obvious rec cuz you never know, maybe the person hasn't heard that album. Like example if someone is like "I fucking love 'Rust In Peace' by Megadeth right now! What are the most obvious recs that you would think I wil also love?" And then someone says "check out 'Countdown To Extinction' by Megadeth, 'Master of Puppets' by Metallica." That is kinda obvious, but also good. Anyway, yeah, just an idea.

I had to pull this thread back up because of Rocky's question. I got a shockingly good rec the other day from a young friend on Facebook. After listening to three albums he's one of my top ten rappers no doubt. In particular, the nearly ten minute long "Dance with the Devil" from the following album is one of the best tracks I've ever heard. Apparently he's not well known around these parts, at least based on number of ratings and total charts (although I see a few noteworthy names have dabbled a little bit). Hopefully you guys will give him a listen and rectify that.

Revolutionary Vol. 1 by Immortal Technique

generally speaking I really don't fuck with Immortal Tech (especially not that album sorry badseed 🤣 ), BUT this song rules. Also even though I really don't vibe to his albums, I caught him live at this hip-hop fest thing a few years back and he put on a killer show (and signed my friend's bag of weed). So yeah even though I might not be seconding badseed's rec here, I highly suggest catching him live if you get the chance. Probably the most dramatic difference in enjoyment from wax to concert I've experienced

I like Vol. 2 better, and you probably just linked to the best song on it. But "Dance with the Devil" was the reason I decided not to stop after just the first album. I don't know what it is, I obviously don't love the genre as much as some of you but I think IT's some next level shit.

Immortal Tech has no flow and cringey university politics and is therefore the worst.

Here is an unprovoked recommendation:

IF YOU LIVE IN THE CALIFORNIA BAY AREA, NEW YORK CITY, OR WISCONSIN, YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE SENYAWA LIVE

IT IS AN INCREDIBLE LIVE EXPERIENCE AND I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS ENOUGH, IF YOU ARE IN ANY OF THESE AREAS IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU GO
