pink floyd is so old. move on already. it's all about now.

the 60's are bullshit, the 70's almost big big bullshit, 80's... I don't even need to tell you, except for The Smiths maybe. Get out of it! Just get out of it! Shit's happening now, it's all about now, now now now. Bigger, faster, sweatier, skinnier, whiter, blacker, Gracer.

It's easily Pink Floyd for me. I mean they have Meddle, The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish you Were Here, Animals and The Wall, all of which are fantastic. The only Radiohead albums that could compete with them are In Rainbows and Kid A. I'll give you that OK Computer, Hail to the Thief and The Bends are better than the other Pink Floyd albums though. The rest of both Pink Floyd's and Radiohead's ouvre is good but not outstanding.

Floyd by many many leagues. I can go through at least a half dozen Floyd albums before Radiohead could crack the list.

Not that close of a call for me. I would say Radiohead for me is like a 90, and Pink Floyd is like a 75. Stupid millennial, am I right?

1. Radiohead - Kid A
2. Radiohead - OK Computer
3. Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
4. Radiohead - Amnesiac
5. Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
6. Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool
7. Radiohead - In Rainbows
8. Pink Floyd - Animals
9. Radiohead - The Bends
10. Pink Floyd - Piper at the Gates of Dawn

It's pretty difficult to say with full confidence which band is better, anything better about one band, the other has another thing they do better then them.

-Radiohead has a much more consistent discography from the beginning of their career to now and has had all of the same members from Pablo Honey to A Moon Shaped Pool.

But

-Pink Floyd has several phases of themselves with at least one "classic" in each, constantly able to top themselves at the peak of their career, and at that peak, no artist could really come close to topping them with a few exceptions (Marquee Moon > Animals anyone else?).

It really comes down to the wire for both bands, but I would choose Radiohead, barely. It honestly comes so close for me that it ends up coming down to personal preference, and I see I'm not alone one this judging by how split down the middle many in this forum are as well.

But both are fantastic bands. Some of the all-time best ever.

It's a close call.

But I think the 4 big albums rundown of the 70s of PF end up winning.

I've rated 90+ 4 PF albums and 3 from Radiohead.
80+ 6PF vs 6 Radiohead.

So yes, pretty close call.

But I think PF has a couple of albums that are significant for the whole culture. I mean you don't have to be into rock or music to know and understand The Wall concept, or the pigs flying over factory smokestacks, or masked kids in school. Radiohead doesn't come close to that on that level IMO, it's just another rock band for people that are not deep into their music.
