Thanks a lot for the suggestions guys!

I am literally sick of the popular country music, I even intentionally searched for 'greatest country' albums on Google, and those FGL albums came out

I have heard Sturgill Simpson's latest two albums not long ago, and it's totally an amazing experience. Musgraves' are also really good, I feel like I've gone to an eternal adventure.

Once again, thank you guys! I've put some of your suggestions to my wait-list

I know you're looking for more recent Country music, but I'd really suggest checking out Townes Van Zandt. Early country (well, any era of country) can suffer from being a bit too cheesy and upbeat. Townes Van Zandt's stuff is all pretty meloncholic, which has helped it age really well.

I feel like Country has higher highs and lower lows of most other genres. Different audiences, I guess. Townes Van Zandt probably appeals to a Radiohead fan.

I was raised on this man's music ever since his first song went to radio 30 years ago when I was just four years old! 😄 😄 😄

God bless you and him always!!! 😄 😄 😄

P.S. My favorites from that album are "Turn It On, Turn It Up, Turn Me Loose", "Takes A Lot To Rock You", "Nothing's Changed Here", "Since I Started Drinking Again", "It Only Hurts When I Cry", "Send A Message To My Heart", "I Don't Need It Done", and "You're The One". 😄 😄 😄

Not a contemporary country music artist, but definitely required listening for anyone who likes anti-Nashville country. Imagine Merle Haggard meets Hunter S. Thompson...
