Best Ever Books (preliminary discussion)

Hey BEA. So as you may have inferred from the thread title I'm looking to (at some point in the eventual future) get some people to participate in a BEA ranking of our favorite books. Not gonna get it rolling until after the current film poll craze settles down a bit, but I thought we could still start discussing how we might go about such a tournament. How long should lists be? What is considered eligible? Are poetry anthologies game? What about photography and visual art books? Hypertext fiction? Basically just use this thread to help me work out the specifics of what (I hope) will one day be the Best Ever Books vote/poll, (and I suppose also if you want you can drop some names here if you wanna get some books more well-known within the BEA community). tl;dr Favorite books poll! yes? no? Discuss! EDIT: looks like we have a more support leaning towards it being purely a fiction poll. How does everyone feel about this?

My taste is pretty much centered around traditional literature, myself (my favorite novel of all time is a tie between The Count of Monte Cristo and Ivanhoe)—with some experience with early 20th Century works and of course the pulp/sci-fi/adventure boom from 1930-1970.

inb4 Storm of Swords is #1 of all time, A Tale of Two Cities doesn't make the top 100, and I rage (even though I like the game of thrones books).

EDIT: actually, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows might end up with the #1 spot to the embarrassment of us all (even though, again, I like HP)
