Yes, I know you asked for hits, but I did not realise Flat Beat was only a hit in Europe

A hit only in Europe is good enough. That counts.

Hey, I just right now noticed that I had Da Funk only in my 100 Greatest SINGLES chart but not in my 100 greatest INSTRUMENTALS chart. I thought I had it in both. so thanks for reminding me or else it might have gone missing forever. Heh heh

Good chart that you did. Makes us want to listen to these instrumentals, and even (some of) the albums they're in.

I remember in the 70s there was a bunch of instrumental hits:

"Cavatina (Theme from Dear Hunter)" - Stanley Myers
"Oxygene part 4" - Jean Michel Jarre
"Magic Fly" - Space
"Fifth of Beethoven" - Walter Murphy
"Frankenstein" - Edgar Winter
"Star Wars Theme" - Meco
"Pick Up The Pieces" - Average White Band
"Popcorn" - Hot Butter
"Chase" - Giorgio Moroder

and of course "Tubular Bells" with Mike Oldfield

All those were high in the charts as i remember it, so they should be considered hits.
