#2: Really? Not since Lift Your Skinny Fists..., huh? I personally think Allejuah! Don't Bend! Ascend! comes pretty close to the quality of that album.
Oh I like their last three, don't get me wrong. But their first two are just on another level, as is Zero Kanada. Its really just a case of an artist having such a high standard that anything but another masterpiece leaves me wanting more. Even if the new one is on par with Allelujah I'll be happy though. _________________ And it's hard to be a human being. And it's harder as anything else.
I hope Flower Boy ends up rising in the overall charts by the end of the year. It's pretty funny that Tyler dropped a better album than Kendrick this year imo.
Did anybody else here find the new Kendrick album disappointing? I thought it pretty mediocre, with underwhelming beats, lyrics and hooks, at least for Kendrick's standards. My expectations were probably a little too high after To Pimp a Butterfly. There was no way he would top that, but it's no excuse for the low quality of some of the tracks on it. With that being said though, I did like some of the tracks. "Feel", "XXX" and "Duckworth" are all good with some good lyrics, but the same can't be said about tracks like "Yah", "Element" and "Love".
The new Arcade Fire record was trash though. Not a single track I liked on it. I didn't have that high expectations after Reflektor and thought the group was past their prime at this point, but goddamn this new album is bad!
So I've been somewhat disappointed by this year so far, but I hope Godspeed You! Black Emperor comes through with something good. I found Asunder, Sweet and Other Distress to be rather disappointing, but I love all their other stuff, so Imma stay optimistic. Death Grips may or may not be out with a new record this year, you never know with them. They just say "we're working on something", then some months later a new album pops up outta nowhere. But that Steroids EP they put out earlier this year was fantastic, and their last two albums were both killer, so I'm sure this one will be too. Oh, and Car Seat Headrest also has a new album on the way, yay!
I'd also like to give a shoutout to Neil Cicierega's Mouth Moods, an hilarious and impressive mashup album that was released this year.
Yah and Love are two of my favorites off of DAMN. I've accepted that he's moved on from the TPAB sound and think DAMN is great. Probably my least favorite of his but his discography is so great that's not really saying much.
The LCD cover is not good, but I don't hate it. Its more bland than anything, it's not like it's gross or offensive or anything. Also better than the Everything Now cover imo. _________________ And it's hard to be a human being. And it's harder as anything else.
Yay! DOOM is dropping an album this year too! And his first solo album since 2009. It's gonna be a project where he drops a new track every week through Adult Swim's website. The first track "Negus" is pretty good. Can't wait for more! So now we've got both a new DOOM, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and possibly Death Grips album on the way. This gonna be a good year!

Honestly, I'm having a hard time with this beat... it's just not sounding pleasant. Will give it a few more shots though.
