Radio killed the Video star (favorite YouTube discoveries?)

I'm an old fart -so this might not apply to all y'all, but... 1) How often do you listen to music via YouTube, but more importantly, actually watch the video? 2) If not, do you remember a time when you watch music videos & was it a huge impact on your music discovery? 3) Do you find visuals help deepen your appreciation for music? Do some visuals turn you off from that style, etc? Idk - I'm bringing this up because MTV heavily influenced my early days of music, especially rap music. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog, LL Cool J, Coolio, Warren G, etc. I would have probably never heard of if it weren't for MTV. Furthermore my love for U2, R.E.M., Nirvana, Radiohead, RHCP, Smashing Pumpkins, etc. would likely hadn't had developed. Arcade Fire on the other hand - I just saw a music video of theirs for the first time... Do you know of any cool music videos of cool new artists you'd like to share? Is this still major part of music discovery for all y'alls or is it pretty rare?

Im on my laptop at the kitchen table and my wife thought it was the BEE Gees (not seeing the video of course).

I absolutely loved this video- the black and white made it feel even more updated and modern even though hes dead.

That was so good, I think i might pick it up.
I found it really really relaxing with a groovy sound. LOVED it.

I have gone into so many youtube black holes and have found so much stuff from random suggestions I can't even count them anymore. I watched videos all the time with my brother when I was younger, for hours at a time.

I'll just drop some videos I admire.

But seriously, thanks for reminding me of some of that rap I forgot about. I felt like a kid again watching them.

But then that second video was quite disturbing. I mean I know people do that for a living, but somehow it just drove me batty. The first one was a little insane too, but cool at the same time. Trippy.

Musically the rap was much more interesting, for my taste at least. Now I know what I missed when Basement Jaxx was the thing.
