You guys I have to say, this is exactly what I wanted to get out this thread and then some. Mission accomplished making me want to take in everything about the band, the individual members later and solo projects as well, akin to The Beatles after seeing dihansse's comment that Mould and Hart are the Lennon/McCartney of indie. I'm sure I will not regret furthering my knowledge of them.

Some wonderful endorsements of the band and their music here. An amazing and, as always, well told comment from Jimmy Dread as well.

Michael 1981, I'm in the same boat. I've missed the boat on bands like these for so long because I was too busy catching up on the bands who succeeded them. Can't wait to take that era in now.

Tilly, I remember Brann mentioning Grant in an interview and how much he loves the band. You can really hear the influence in Brann's fills and beat structure. Very frenetic, almost anxiety driven drumming but in an always controlled and musical manner.

I will get around to New Day Rising very soon, Tha1ChiefRocka and I'm already looking forward to it.
