as a lame stereotypical american who can't even master his own language, let alone a second one (i've taken two years of spanish and two years of mandarin classes to no avail), i have no real insight into this, but when i listen to non-english albums, i find urdu and french quite attractive, though neither for their "rock and roll" qualities. for that matter, gaelic and italian sound pretty amazing to my ears as well.

are there any Klingon bands out there? that'd be the ultimate hair metal.

I'd say viking metal comes closest. Grand epic tales of battle and conquest that would make most Klingons proud. Tyr often performs in their native Faroese language, which absolutely rocks for the genre.
